Description

For the Roman who did not care for blood, the Circus Maximus provided the thrill of the race. Single horse races, chariot races, and even attempted riding of wild animals brought the audiences to the Circus. With a seating capacity between 150,000-250,000, the Circus also provided the site for religious games as well.
